Hurry Up and Wait.

Hey Friends!

First off, I hope you're all having a great start to 2010. I've talked to folks all over who were all kicking off the new year in the right way, so hopefully that year is still going in a great groove….

My year hit the ground running almost immediately…."Watching the Detectives" is finished and already tested with a focus group (we had a great score and had some fun and had some great feedback) and from there, we took it from the editing room and directly to some networks, producers and studios….

the great part is when everything goes out, then the tough part is being patient for a few days until the next meeting…which is where I am right now. Also, been in talks with a big agent to come and support the show…and again, the waiting period. The tough thing about this world is the whole "hurry up and wait" approach….last week networks would say "we need it now! and we'll have another talk in a couple of weeks" so that downtime is just awful, even though the next meeting is set up you think "wow, did they watch it? did they watch it and hate it? did it even get to them? should I call them ahead of time? Maybe I should fly out there? perhaps send a fruit basket? maybe bake them some cookies? send them presents?" Seriously, if you like second guessing yourself, then I think I'd be some good company this week. Though it's not all waiting, been working hard, have a biggie network tomorrow and a meeting this week for the tv show…in addition to that, I'm handing 40 pages for 2 flicks to the NFL, they'd wanted something since LEAF hit the fridge, so I took a few weeks, put up my feet up and just figured it all out. 2010 should also bring the world the chance to get down with  DOWN WITH THE BOOGEY finally and a little something special in the pipeline for the spring time dedicated to all the good folks of "Charm City" Baltimore, Maryland (promise it will be both funky and fresh and hopefully, fun to watch). Also, I'm looking to get a little sneak peek of "Detectives"for free for all of you, more details to come on that, but it looks like everything is set, and this looks to be a really fun evening. It'd be nice to have some folks out for a screening…this is almost the exact opposite of LEAF, where with LEAF we hit the cities first and then the big wigs in the business….with "Detectives" it's all big wigs and meetings first….so I miss the fun of a crowd and can't wait to see all of you soon (Just 2 pending east coast screenings right now…but we'd love to get a couple more sneaks in around everyone's hometown)

However, until then, it looks like lots coming up soon….in Philly, JJ Garvine and Tai Parquet's award winning flick "Keeping The Peace" hits Philly (Bryn Mawr) on February 1st (www.BrynMawrFilm.org), the world premiere of "200 Characters or Less" hits Wilmington on Feb (which somehow has at least 4 cast members of "Detectives"…possibly more go say hello at www.in200charactersorless.com)
In 200 Characters... or Less
...and the film UNCERTAINTY with Joseph Gordon Levitt is heading towards a wide release (I caught this at the IFC in NYC before the holidays and it's a cool story)

Not to mention the great VAMPIRE WEEKEND dropped a new record and are on tour right now…so a lot to look forward to…but until then, it's like the great Tom Petty told us "the waiting is the hardest part"

Cousins

So with that, please stay tuned, enjoy the new year, eat drink, be merry, if your football is still playing, congratulations….it's yet another reason to continue to enjoy the new year, eat drink, be merry.

wishing you all life, love and laughter,
Tim
