"The Coast To Coast Motel"

WOW my 2012 resolution to “communicate better” looks like it’s FAILING MISERABLY! Never too late to get it going though!
So the year has been hopping so far, a few greatest hits to get caught up:
Had the great pleasure to drop in on the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL for a little work, we’re filming with the legendary Indie Film Guru Bob Hawk, and we ended up doing some filming in Park City Utah at Sundance. The funny thing was, before leaving Bob was like “pace yourself at Sundance, it’s a lot” and I was like “yeaaaaah ok, Bob, I think I can handle it” and YOU KNOW WHAT? Bob was right. We were out there running around, filming, trying to make screenings, skipping meals, drinking coffee bouncing off the walls in that thing mountain air….it was a surreal experience! Wonderful time though, had a chance to see some great films and meet some great people... like who? Oh ok here's a picture of Andie Macdowell at a premiere!
Right before we left, a curveball that happens sometimes with Indie Film happened to DOWN WITH THE BOOGEY. BOOGEY had it’s distribution deal with a fine fine place….I mean fine in the way where they have an Oscar….that company disappeared. They went belly up. OVERNIGHT.
So all the work put in to Boogey, now has to start all over again. This happens sometimes. I know some filmmakers just can relax when their film gets to the “distribution” part….but I say, NOOOOO don’t relax until you see the film on the shelf! So Boogey hit a snag, however like any really good movie, there’s a demand for it. So it will be out, just with a new home. Funny thing is, the night before I got a plane to Sundance this all happened. When it rains it pours right? No worries, this film had a deal before it even did a test screening, and we've already had a few calls since this all happened! Trust me, the Boogey is taking a long and winding road, but it's well worth it I promise.
Then the mighty WATCHING THE DETECTIVES look like they have a home now too. It’s getting there. TV is it’s own little animal. Lots of stopping, lots of starting, lots of brainstorming lots of everything! But we’re getting there….little by little and we will very hopefully have the story of crimefighters at Mackey’s department store in fron of your wonderful eyeballs sometime soon. There’s a lot of positivity on this one, that’s been the great thing about this TV pilot….it’s been a long long journey, but every step has been filled with love and positivity for the show, and sometimes…..that’s really all it takes to keep things going!
So with that, we have SAFE still out now, which is a lot of fun if you havent seen it yet…go see it! Have some popcorn! Just enjoy, Boaz Yakin made a really entertaining film here. Also, it has a few castmembers of DETECTIVES in it! Don’t you love it when things come full circle?
Also had the great pleasure of stopping in NEW YORK CITY last month for 3 wonderful things...a meeting with a major network, RECORD STORE DAY, and of course on around 50th st between 7th and 8th DOLLAR SLICES like so many things….NEW YORK DOES IT RIGHT!
I think we’re all caught up…..also, holy moses how have I gone on this long and just now discovered THE HELLACOPTERS? HELLUVA BAND!Please youtube it and enjoy it.
Some more fun next week....about a beloved sweet little film called 13th Grade finally coming out for you, for free, this very second!
Upward and ownwards….
Take care and be good,
TIM
