Some call it rogue rock...

I have some fun screening news.....but not for LEAF. Don't worry, more LEAF news is coming soon, however this is a film that's a little different....here's the backstory.
I wrote a directed a short film called "A Deeper Shade of Soul". It was my 2nd attempt at writing/directing. I wrote it based on those days we all have where we think "Is everyone crazy except for me?", so it's a story of a guy having a day like that, and as he's having a bad day, a friendly bartender follows him around all day, just trying to cheer him up. Also, everyone in the cast speaks in rhyme, except for our guy having the bad day. We finished shooting this, and it premiered at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. However, the time where this came out....I started doing press for the premiere of "13th Grade"...and from "13th Grade" I went right into "Rocky" and after "Rocky" wrapped, I went right into "Down With The Boogey" (which just came out...that movie is awesome...please look for it) and after "Boogey" I went right into "LEAF". Which brings us, to present day. So "Deeper Shade" sort of fell between the cracks.
Until recently.
I was in NYC for "LEAF" and a film organizer and all around good guy Mike Park, caught wind of "Deeper Shade" and really enjoyed and is now including it in his prestigious NYC screening series...at the same time, I received a nice e-mail from Denise at the Philadelphia Film Office, who really enjpyed it and was asking why this film has been kept quiet....so this was followed up by "Deeper Shade" becoming an official selection of the "V'Ville Film Festival" on June 28th, in Virginville, Pennsylvania. What's cool about this festival, is that it's outside. On this huge organic field....there's a gigantic screen with great sound. So "Deeper Shade" will now get its due on, hopefully, a nice summer night under the stars. The nice feeling is that movie is finally getting it's day in the sun (literally!)
So I know that everyone probably won't be able to fit "watching Tim's rhyming movie in a huge field on a big big screen" into their schedules...so if you'd still like to see what the brew ha ha is, here's a link to see the 10 minute version (the 14 minute version will play the festival). If you've all ever had a day, where you've felt out of sorts, out of place and completely mis understood....please take a look, and join Adam, Mortimer and the rest of the gang on their adventures as they try to go and find a better day.
