THE SAINTS OF NEWARK DELAWARE

Crazy, at the screening in Newark, Delaware.... would you believe that they knocked out George Clooney and Leatherheads to fit us in.?
Leatherheads [Theatrical Release]

What a great show, and a huge turnout for a later Sunday night show. For that I'm so grateful to all of the good folks in the first state.  I had the chance to see some great folks from all over, some folks I haven't seen in almost 15 years. So it was really great to catch up. We rocked some great trailers...Matt Martinez' "Dead To The World", Vince Corkadel's "Dust and Death", Hansi Oppenheimer's documentary on The Replacements called "Color Me Obsessed" and Jack Knapp's soon to be classic "Down With The Boogey". I was really glad to see such positive reactions to all of these films...the 4 filmmakers should take note, I think there's an eager crowd in the first state to check out these pictures.

The movie launched and what I've found , is that certain moments work better in certain cities....after a brief Q&A, and then another impromptu Q&A in the lobby, turns out, the Delaware crowds loved the great John Canada Terrell. One recommendation, was to put John Canada Terrell in EVERY movie, just so he can crack one liners. I whole heartedly agree. We should digitally insert John into most movies.
She's Gotta Have It

My wife got a real highlight, she, being a huge American Idol fan, had a chance to meet the great Ben Harr, who was in attendance, Ben, you may remember, was a gentleman who did his American Idol audition dressed as Princess Leia. I never saw the audition, but Ben was a nice guy and it was great having him in the crowd.

My highlight was about three quarters through the movie, a gentleman came back to my seat and said "thanks for making this, I think it's excellent" I think that line alone made my night.

So with that....and with just 3 hours of sleep....we dive headfirst into the Broadway show in Pitman, New Jersey....a little press this week too (here's last weeks press if you'd like to check it out, though you all have probably heard it all if you read this thing)...heading right into our big NFL DRAFT free show....we're nearing the end of the "EAST COAST FREE SHOW" tour, with a few more shows left, an NYC show and possibly Maryland and Florida as well. But for now....we're heading into Pitman New Jersey...it's a huge theater, so come on out for a big free show!

However, before we roll into the Garden State.... if I could, I'd like to take a moment and tip my cap to the great  folks at the Delaware screening, I'm incredibly grateful to each and every single one of you.

Here's a little press from the last couple of days:
