"Reach for the Sun"

So LEAF is screening in the FIRST STATE of DELAWARE on April 20th, we’re playing the CINEMA 3 in NEWARK, DE, they gave me a 475 seat theater, are there even 475 people in Delaware? Boy, do I hope so. So in order to make a few appearances, I went out and had a Q&A with the great folks at Wilmington University....we talked about everything...dealing with being overwhelmed on a film set (that never goes away) what to do when rejection happens (it happens all the time keep your head high....show biz is a see saw, big ups, big downs), stupid tv shows, carpet infomercials and Timothy Hutton.

Yep. The great Tim Hutton. This is funny. I was trying to get him for LEAF and mentioned this to a producer in California, and, it turns out, that they were best friends...talk about a random coincidence. Anyway the producer told me to send him a script, and if he liked it, he’d pass it on and really persuade Hutton to filming with us. Thank goodness he liked the script, and got in Hutton’s ear. It felt close for a minute, like "wow, we just may get this academy award winner" but when all was said and done, Mr. Hutton had wrapped back to back projects and was heading over to Europe for a little down time. I hadn’t thought about this story in a while, but I’m a fan of the great Timothy Hutton and who knows? Maybe next time, we’ll get him, when we start filming "LEAF 2: Electric Bugaloo". I mentioned 2 smaller movies that he was great in, "CITY OF INDUSTRY" and "PLAYING GOD"

Playing God

This New Kids on the Block reunion is starting to ruin my life. A very nice lady from China came to me and swore I looked like JOEY MCINTYRE.

She’d seen him on THE TODAY SHOW. I’ve never ever heard this, and don’t even see the similarities. Anyone ever get that, someone says you look like someone and you just don’t see it? Let us know. Write it in the comments section! My mother has told me HUGH GRANT for almost 15 years now, and I never saw that either.

I told my wife that someone told me I looked like a NEW KID, and she says "Too bad it’s not Donnie. I love Donnie" get that? She used the present tense. How is it okay that the female population can get giddy about the New Kids on Block, but we all get yelled at for still having a crush on Alyssa Milano?

By the way, "13th Grade" and "Keeping the Peace" director JJ Garvine told me he has a stash of the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK cartoon show (see this reunion is making everyone admit CRAZY things). Speaking of look a likes, someone told him he looked like Clay Aiken. He’s still REALLY mad about that.

I’ve been reading blogs by all bands and musicians these days. They’re all really interesting, because these folks are on the road non stop, playing live shows every single night to huge crowds....meeting people, hanging out, seeing the world, enjoying themselves while living their lives at a breakneck pace. So I realized. If I had a band, I’d these blogs would be INSANE. But unfortunately for me. I can’t sing. I have a guitar but I’m not very good. I have a bass, and I’m only a slight improvement with it over my guitar skills. So what do I do? I think I’ll join this band, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE.  Thing is, I’ll join the band, but they won’t know that I’ve joined. Look at this picture. There are like 500 people in this band. I could fit right in. I’ll just sneak on stage and stay in the band. I’ll hang out near the back of the stage and dance a little.  They won’t even notice that I joined the band.

Not only that. I can invite my new band to the LEAF screening in Delaware. One minute there are 3 people there, the next minute, Tim walks in with his 500 person band. And just like that? SOLD OUT SHOW.

I love it when a plan comes together.

take care and be good,
TIM
