PHILLY. Wow good times.

PHILLY. Wow good times.

Thanks to all the great folks who came out on their Thursday night. It was a great crowd with a lot of life and a lot of great questions.

It started out with 2 top notch trailers for 2 upcoming films "Dark Delicacies" and "Down With the Boogey" (who had so many cast members come out to support the screening, I was so grateful), what was a real good feeling is the crowd was really into these trailers...so  I'm hoping this great reaction will translate into everyone will coming out and supporting those movies too.

Then the movie kicked off. The great thing about these screenings, is that each crowd gets into a different moment each time, and the great Philly folks really seemed to enjoy the "Dallas" era (I know, it's ironic, considering the long standing Philly/Dallas rivalry

We had some great cameos in the audience, Chris Mann of academy award winning "Michael Clayton" and of HBO's "The Wire" came out to support the film, he also said that one thing he learned from working on "Michael Clayton" is that he realized that I was ten times cooler than George Clooney. Okay, I'm making that "cooler than Clooney" part up.

Also in the crowd, was Clayton Prince from the upcoming film "Cover" (I spoke to him about his success with writing and directing...though the inner 80's geek in me, knew his work on THE COSBY SHOW as Denise's boyfriend who said "EH MON!" The Cosby Show rocked. It may be the best show ever).

Then I saw Philly 6ABC sportscaster Gary Pappa WALK OUT of the show! At first I thought "wow why did he walk out?" Then I was told that he had to go do the 11pm newscast, and that he'd asked earlier about how soon the movie would get started because he was on a time schedule. So all is good, Gary is off the hook. We're still Gary Pappa fans.

A few really great comments came out and the impromptu (and sort of dark) Q&A afterwards, there were the two usual questions "Why a movie about Ryan Leaf, WHY?" and "What was wrong with that man?"....one new question asked about my weight gain for the movie (It was a 10 year period...so weight gain was really necessary), I didn't put as much on as it looked on screen, but I was happy with how heavy I did look for the character, especially towards the end of the movie....another great question was "why weren't you in it more?" but the way that I always wanted to tell this story, is tell the story from about 50 different points of view...kind of like how that movie "Saving Private Ryan" where Private Ryan himself, although he was in the film's title,  he was a supporting character in that great ensemble cast.

Thanks to everyone who poppe d out to make this another big success...I continue to be humbled by the ongoing enthusiasm and support for this movie. Hopefully we'll get in another Philly show, but we're now packing our bags for a nice NEW YORK CITY screening on Friday, March 21st. Should really be a blast!

I did forget to dedicate the screening to Patrick Swayze. I hope I remember that for next time.

see you all soon,
TIM
