Hey Friends!
Big time good times and good folks. Last week I got a late phone call “hey I have an extra Phillies playoff ticket, want to come?” Oh heck yeah. Then it turned into a “no hitter”. The first one in baseball since 1956! Roy Halladay, that was surreal….I grabbed a million shots of that, but I liked this one a lot and wanted to share it with you all, how about that?
Just when I could barely catch my breath, it was time for THE HOLD STEADY! Anytime they play is a good time….but in this case? It was much sweeter, see, THE HOLD STEADY decided to play an ultra small club show at a place called MOJO 13.
I had to get in that mix, afterall it felt like my NICK AND NORA moment (of course without the witty banter that Michael Cera and Kat Dennings did so well), the great things about this show, is how many great folks I ran into there, I ran into Ken and Adrienne from “DOWN WITH THE BOOGEY” and they pointed out the place next to the MOJO 13 was called FLUFFY (see? It WAS my Nick and Nora moment, Ok I’ll stop talking about that movie and its wonderful infinite playlist)
But the show was incredible, just a great loud rock and roll show, I took 39 seconds of video and wanted to share this, I just wanted to put this up because I can actually share what a good time this show was…so there’s a pretty bad ass 39 second taste of THE HOLD STEADY doing “SEQUESTERED IN MEMPHIS” off their incredible 2008 effort “STAY POSITIVE” (How is this band not gigantic? I’m talking, how are they not really really big?) Anyway that clip was going to take forever to upload...so here's the SAME SONG! MUCH LONGER VERSION! From Minneapolis! I will upload my clip at some point....
Neat right? Also, I’d like to point you guys to a pretty great recap of this rare show by the mighty fine writer and Parking Lot Film Family member Ryan Cormier.
So that’s been fun, know what else has been fun? Answering your kind and sometimes not so kind e-mails….I have a whole bunch of e-mail I’ll answer and post on this thing soon. I have been slacking and I know this. Also, been doing a lot of filming on a lot of things it seems these days, so lots of storytelling to share about all this storytelling that’s been going on.
Now, can I get all "AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL" on you? "One to Grow On"? "The More You Know"? I learned about this program pretty recently it's called the BLESSINGS IN A BACK PACK program
This is a program that provides kids who eat at schools during the week through assistance, but don’t have enough to eat on the weekends. Have a look at the site, this is a great cause. And I’ve signed up to donate some time and resources and anything they need. So if you’re free even for a bit, come on out, we’ll do some good together! for more information:

Let's do this all again soon yes?
Bass, how low can you go,
