Hey Everyone,
I know I know....it's been like 2 months with no new updates and now I'm back with 2 in a week, sorry if I'm a chatty cathy, but I've been catching up on e-mail and have some fun questions I figured I'd post and answer....so here we go! take care and be good, TC
"Where do you get music for your projects?" I actually listen to a lot of everything. I've spent much space on this thing talking about bands, no matter big or small, and how I want them all to get many more fans. Sometimes I'll hear something in my head, and I'd think
"this sort of works with a scene in my head" or "This song is so good, I'd write or do a season to accommodate it". I also love to find a band that plays a lot and has great music and yet somehow, not many know of them, like the great
NORTH SEA STORY out of Brooklyn, New York or
"Josten Swingline" (I just heard their new EP which is coming out soon, it's REALLY great, they just keep getting better) and
"The BullBuckers" of Newark, Delaware. I support and love these bands so any chance I have to introduce them to a bigger audience in anyway, whether it be via film or babbling about them here, I'll always keep it going. I'm not sure if I answered your question, but I'm always looking for great songs, and I'll travel and look under rocks to find those great tunes that I know are out there.
The good souls in Josten Swingline. Click on the pic and say hello to them. Don't worry, they're friendly folks. "I read about your tv show and wondered how I could get into acting." Great question. This is always a great one. From your e-mail, you told me you're from Delaware, and contrary to what a certain successful Delaware based actor once said
("There's no film or theater in Delaware so my advice is move") I disagree. In this area….you have New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC all at your fingertips. Get after it, go online, find who's casting in these areas and go pay them a visit. Load some snacks and tunes and headshots in the car/bus/train and just go say hello. Yes, Los Angeles is the capital of movies and tv, but if you can't transplant yourself there immediately, I say get to NYC do some theater, commercials, indie films ANYTHING, and keep me updated here on your progress. Good luck, and let me tell you there are huge highs and low lows, just keep your eye on the prize and don't forget to thank this blog at the Oscars.
"I'm doing an independent film right now and I feel like I'm working with some bad actors. Should I quit?" No. Don't ever quit. Just focus on you and I are in the business of doing, and that's storytelling. Leave the "talent assessments" of your fellow actors to casting agents, producers, etc...just keep your focus, and that's telling a story and keeping to your word to your cast and producers. When all is said and done, doing film is still better than most jobs, so don't lose sight of that. I used to swipe membership cards at 5am at the local YMCA, trust me, it could always be worse.
"Are you on Twitter?" Yes, and I'm addicted.
www.Twitter.Com/Tim_Carr "If you could do a movie with anyone, who would it be?" Great question, really love this one, is this of all time? If so Paul Newman, Jack Lemmon and Audrey Hepburn. If it's for just living actors, Susan Sarandon, Daniel Day Lewis, Ellen Burstyn, Kevin Bacon and Sidney Poitier. I need to leave this question or else I'll name actors all day. Like Ewan Macgregor, Tracy Morgan, and all of the Baldwin Brothers.

The great Jack Lemmon. "The Apartment" was just funny, tragic, inspiring...all within about 90 minutes.
"We heard you on the radio and you always sound so positive, how do you stay so upbeat and encouraging?" First of all, thanks. I don't necessarily feel like I'm like that, but I apreciate you saying so. I think staying positive helps a lot, especially in a business where you take so many hits. Also, I told a story about that certain "Succesful Delaware Actor" I'd mentioned in a previous answer, not so sure if that was positive, though it was sort of funny and I did get great e-mails like this one out of it. Also, jealousy is never a good thing. I encourage because I really want to see people do well, especially at this job. When Bill Page's film was playing all over the country? I loved it. The producer of that film "ALL ALONG" lives right across the street from me, so anytime something good happens to those guys I never think "I wish I had the nationwide love like that" I know that these are 2 good guys, who deserve success for their hard work. Vince Corkadel does something like 86 films a year. He gets great press for it and gets deal offers a lot. But, again, here's a good guy who works hard. I got an e-mail completely unrelated to anything I was working on that said
"PLAYING IN NEW YORK, WORLD PREMIERE OF VINCE CORKADEL's 'BASTARD ART'", I loved it, Vince had cracked NEW YORK and they were rolling the red carpet out for him. You can't help BUT be happy for someone like that. Also, speaking of which, Matt Martinez' "DEAD TO THE WORLD" is out and about…and it deserves good things too….go check that out and say hello to Matt. I brought his film trailer with me everywhere on the LEAF tour. Now "Dead to the World" could eclipse my film, but you know what? Just be proud of those guys, they worked hard, made a great film and deserve everything they get. Plus when "All Along", "Bastard Art" and "Dead to the World" win Academy Awards, maybe one of them will give me their goodie bag that they give out at those things.
"You talk about The Replacements a lot, i heard a song called "anywhere's better than here" and liked it a lot, could you recommend something for a first timer?" First of all, WELCOME. I'm glad you liked "Anywhere's…" what a great intro that song has. That song is on the "Don't Tell a Soul" record. But that one came out more towards the end of that band. My first 'Mats record was called "TIM" and it's a good mix of what they do, rock and roll, acoustic soul and genuine sense of recklessness. If you like "Anywhere's Better Than Here", then "Tim" sort of has that flavor. Though do yourself a favor and pick up "LET IT BE" it's a classic….just those first jangly chords to the first song called "I Will Dare", you'll be hooked. Good luck and I'm sure the Replacements won't let you down. Let me know what you think of them!

"Aint Lost Yet, So I Gotta Be Winnin'"
"I sing. Any ideas where I could find a producer or somewhere to sing?" Funny, I just saw this listing…..try it and go get 'em! GOOD LUCK, and send me an autographed cd when you get your deal, and tell THE HOFF that I said "Hello"
