Well it’s here. It’s "Opening Day" for baseball, and for fans and non fans, it’s always a sure sign, the nice warm weather is coming. No more of this gray miserable east coast winter. It’s sort of the turnaround, the chance to change directions in case the year hasn’t been going your way. It’s almost like the "warm version" of New Years a brand new warm start....so to get things going in the right direction...this is how I’m going to try and get started on Spring....please feel free to use this template to get your new fresh spring starts....
Monday: Alright, time to take a meeting. What’s the next high profile project? Who knows, we’ll be working on that now. I can tell you the next small project, the way I roll, is for every small project I have, I try to do something a bit more commercial. Fortunately, I was smooth enough to take the early meetings, so, hopefully I’ll still have time to catch that first Phillies game of the year. 1 game down. 161 more to go. Go get ’em fellas.
Tuesday: NEW MUSIC TUESDAY. Word is, the new REM record is a classic.
They’ve plugged in the guitars and are kicking @ss again. The new record is compared to their best "Life’s Rich Pageant" plus one of my friends, who’s in the press, so he gets advance copies of everything, said it’s top notch. If you don’t like REM... and you happen tolike grating whiney annoying songs, COUNTING CROWS have a new cd out too.
Apparently it’s another hour of complaining. I just read an article about the lead singer/chief complainer, and those dreads he has? They’re fake. Also, there’s a song on that new cd called "1492" it’s a song complaining about hooking up with a model type at a dance club in Italy. Only Counting Crows can find a way to complain about that. Also on Tuesday, this is the night where my wife turns on "American Idol" and lovingly votes for that creepy little kid named Archuletta or Archulatta. Something like that.
Wednesday: It’s April 2nd, and rumor is MARIO KART comes out for Nintendo WII.
I don’t own a WII, and I won’t be in line for this game. However that original MARIO KART killed a lot of time for me in high school. Sadly, I probably should have been going to parties, instead I sat around with some buddies, ordering pizza and having Mario Kart tournaments. So now, there’s a new version. Though, WII players, eventually put the game down, make sure you go get some fresh air. Remember, it’s spring now. Good times. Also, good folks in Texas? There’s an open casting call for a reality TV show where you can be Paris Hilton’s new best friend. Please don’t go to this. Just say no.
Thursday: Thursdays are a great day, it’s like "Friday-Lite" you can go out, and the good local bands start to tune up. So get to you local venue, spend the 3$ cover charge, sit out on the outside deck, and find your new favorite local original band. There are so many in every single town, go and find them now. Be a fan, get a tee shirt, have some fun. Want to stay in? You can still rock out. Go and pick up a fun music dvd. Try G LOVE AND SPECIAL SAUCE (anyone in the tri state area, this counts, he’s local. he’s orginal. Put on your dance shoes and let this funky Philly boy rock the house), this one is called "A YEAR AND A NIGHT"
Friday: George Clooney and JIM from THE OFFICE are in a football movie called LEATHERHEADS. We football movies need to support each other, so Clooney and Jim, if you are readers of this blog (and I assume that you both are), I’ll tell everyone to go see "LEATHERHEADS", if you tell everyone to go and see "LEAF". Deal?
Saturday: I always get grief for my unwavering loyalty (and setting my TIVO to "season pass" so I never miss an epsiode) to Saturday Night Live, I tell you, this season is funny. The Tina Fey epsiodes has been the highlight for me, the only thing that may be better? The April 5th show, Christopher Walken is hosting, and to any SNL fan and even the non SNL fans, trust me when I say Christopher Walken is hosting, tune in, I guarantee at least a few good solid laughs. If you don’t believe me, just look up "COWBELL" on you tube.
Sunday: Just kick back and enjoy yourself, open the windows, turn on some music that you bought on Tuesday, make your family and friends some pancakes, have some coffee, catch up on your TOP CHEF re runs. Like Jack Johnson song says "wake up slow"
So there’s a solid way to spend a week, it’s Springtime, enjoy the heck out of it.
