My Troy McClure Day

Well we'd all think I learned a lesson or two after the whole Pepto story I told a few weeks back. Not the case. I get a call from my manager Melissa (did we all add her as a friend yet?) Saying "Monday, Medical detectives. Good times. One day. Good payday" Feeling I should do this one...I'm there early. Okay I'm about 5 minutes late. Maybe ten minutes. I definitely wasn't any more than 20 minutes late. In my defense it was in the middle of nowhere. Anyway it turns out that for some reason this company is working under the title of "medical detectives" but isn't the tv show I guest starred on a few years ago. No way. This turned out to be a commercial/infomercial about Alzheimer's medication. I don't mind that at all...however, the way they dressed me up and set up the camera. Wow. I looked like a cross between an evangelical preacher and  a used car salesman, I had to look right at the camera and read these gigantic pharmaceutical words off of a teleprompter. All the while, the director, he's a funny guy...but you know that sort of "a-hole" who's kind of a cool a-hole because he's kind of funny, because he says everything really negatively...but delivers it like a joke? Sort of like "Yeaaahhh that was a good take, but let's do it again and try not to suck this time".Yep, that was my fearless leader today. I looked and sounded just like the great Troy McClure from THE SIMPSONS. Though I wish my read was just as smooth as his. Phil Hartman was a genius.

Now for a cd I hope you all get the chance to check out:

The Red Hot Chili Peppers-Stadium Arcadium

Stadium Arcadium

The reason I picked this one? Well in the Casa De Carr, we're big fans of VH1's TOP 20 countdown every Sunday, what we all do is sit around and normally make fun of whatever is on (and Nick Lachey, for some reason we come up with our best material at your expense. Sorry.) But for the first time I saw the video for the RHCP "Tell Me Baby" has anyone seen this? I decided that working on that video must have been a blast...so I drove up to the set today playing this cd. Needless to say, my fun on set was not nearly as fun as the folks who were in the "TELL ME BABY" video. I bet it's on You Tube. I just checked. it's not there yet. Anyway keep an eye out for it, and congrats to all the folks that were in it. There's nothing wrong with jumping around a whole lot and dancing a little.

until next time,

TC
